Auto Tech Center is the perfect and ideal auto repair shop for ensuring your car engine stays fuel efficient, lasts longer, and remains reliable.
Auto Tech Center has the right equipment to determine your check engine light problem correctly. Once your check engine light problem is found and repaired we reset the check engine light back to its original form. A Check Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light indicates a problem detected by your vehicle's on-board diagnostic system (OBD) computer.
If you own a diesel-powered vehicle, you're probably aware that it doesn't operate the same way as one that runs on gasoline, or ethanol, or petrol. Unlike a gasoline engine, which relies on an ignition source to start combustion, diesel engines use compression to superheat air enough to ignite the diesel fuel.

Been taking my truck here for nearly ten years. Always timely and well-priced. I'm never worried that I'll be talked into anything I don't need. If you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic, Young is your guy. Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

As a place that provides a service, it won't be perfect as mistakes can happen at anytime but I feel the people at JAT are honest and are good at their jobs. Been going here a few years and I have never felt I was taken advantage of. Prices always felt reasonable and the car always got fixed. A honest mechanic, its all we need right?

He did a big repair, and replacement of original pieces. By Paul (the owner) request all the pieces were bought and brought to him, as he did not wanted to deal with buying the pieces. It was requested to give back the original pieces, however he didn't without previous notification, and when asked about it he stated that he sold them as junk as he thought the payment for the repair was too low. Repairs took way longer as well and then he rushed to be picked up. It seems nice at the beginning but then becomes unprofessional.

The owner of this shop (Paul) has been working on my car for loooooong time. He's the most honest and fair mechanic I've ever. I won't buy a used car without his explicit permission! 1000000% recommended

Paul went out of his way to help me out when my Toyota broke down near his shop. 1) He offered to stay late so that I could drop off then pick up my car. 2) He offered me a discounted price. 3) He explained the issue my car was having and how I can avoid such issues in the future. He showed me the damaged parts in my engine, and we popped the hood and went over all the fixes he made. Paul was honestly the nicest guy and I will certainly use him in the future even though his shop isn't the closest mechanic to my house. He's the kind of mechanic anyone would want a relationship with.

3rd time I've taken my old Mustang in. Each time, Young has shown me EXACTLY what was wrong, as well as the most cost effective and safest options for repairs. My husband also takes his car to Young, and has had the same excellent service. We appreciate having such a great mechanic and honest business to turn to whenever car issues happen. Thanks guys!

Love taking my vehicles there! I drive from about an hour away because I truly believe that they do great and honest service never trying to advise you on anything more than what's needed. I wish I could believe in any auto service like that! When I ask to have a service done well before it was needed, Yung told me so. He would perform it if I wanted but advise me on waiting for my next scheduled maintenance which would make more sense of when it would actually be a good time to do so. It's not just about making money but performing a great service when its necessary and or needed! I can appreciate honesty like that!

The most honest and respectable mechanic I have met here on the west coast! Really explains and do his very best to take care of his clients! From the 1st time I took my work vehicle there I knew this was the guy to bring all my personal vehicles to! Very fair in his pricing and never tried to get you to do something that's not necessary to repair your vehicle! If you need your car looked at or repaired, this is the place that I highly recommend to bring it to! You can't go wrong in this choice!

Very nice little garage on Miramar road. Very professional with reasonable price. And if they cannot help you they will find a good place for you to go to. For example during my last visit they gave me the name of a very good shop to fix the crack in my windshield.

This is my "go-to" auto service shop. Todd is great: honest and fair. I've had four or five used car in our family serviced there, including one very challenging engine overhaul situation. Engine repair; exhaust/catalytic converter work; suspension; A/C recharge; wheel balancing; etc. They will install customer-supplied parts as well. I grew up in Detroit with seven brothers, and almost all of us like to work on cars (DIY). I've been "around the block, " too, as they say.

But when I lack the time, lift, equipment or skill to fix it myself, these guys are honest and good. And if there's a problem (very minor and rare in my experience) they make it right. Hard to top that. I have recommended them to several close friends (and family), too.

Over the years I have taken 3 to 4 cars at minimum to be diagnosed or serviced by auto tech. I have always found them to be professional, fair, accurate in the timing and scope of the work to be done. They are in addition pleasant and friendly people to deal with. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I felt compelled to post a review here b/c I would not want to see this locally owned shop brought down by the lack of reviews here on Yelp (there are tons of POSITIVE reviews on google review, btw). Trust ranks very high on my list when it comes to choosing and remaining with a mechanic. I had a good, thorough discussion with Todd about the needs of my aging car.

He was very knowledgeable, and took the time to outline immediate concerns, and to provide some longer term suggestions about maintaining my aging vehicle. I went with his suggestions for the critical items, and now my car is running great. The turn around was fast, and the cost was very reasonable. I will be back to keep up on those maintenance items! Thanks Auto Tech Center!

I have lived on the West Side for years. I have had my car at a few shops over time. I have to say the only automobile shop I use to maintain and repair my family cars now is Auto Tech. The guys are very knowledgeable and help me make the right decisions. The facility is clean and well maintained. I have recommended friends to Auto Tech Center and always hear back from them how impressed they are. I highly recommend Auto Tech Center. Keep up the good work.

I have no idea where these bad review are coming from. I love the place. I'm Ann Arbor born and raised, and have been going there for at least a decade. They've always given my family and I stellar service, competitive pricing, and occasional freebies too boot! Example of their awesomeness: One day I had to have a last minute oil change.

They said 'bring her in!', and instead of having me wait in the lobby, one of the gentleman drove me up the street so I could grab a bit to eat, coming back to fetch my in the 15-25ish minutes it too for them to get the job done. Another example: an old GF wanted an appraisal done on a car she wanted to buy. She was down on her luck at the moment money wise, and the guys just gave her a big smile and did it free of charge. Go there. They'll treat you right.

This is the ONLY place I go to get my car checked out! They are honest and always do great work. They will always look up the cheapest cost for the parts. Work is always completed in a timely manner. I've now got my family brining their cars to them too! One time I was there an I overheard them telling someone the things that they needed to fix on their car and I thought, "man they must really need a lot done to fix up their car because they have NEVER lied to me about things needed to be fixed." In fact Young will say, "you should probably at some point fix this. but it's not essential to be fixed immediately." The times that it has been important he's told me. Bottom line. Young is up front, honest, and doesn't sugar coat/ try to sell you on anything. They get the job done and they get it done well.

First off, I hate to give a local business a bad review, and, although I am a bit upset, I will try to be as factual as possible. My truck broke down. It stalled while it was running and then would not restart. Eventually (as I waited for a tow), electrical devices in the car stopped working, so I figured it was an electrical issue. My wife quickly checked some reviews (not on Yelp, probably Google) and found Auto Tech had good reviews.

This is part of the reason that I am writing this review. We were told on the phone that the tow would be about $50; it ended up being $65, which is not my definition of "about $50", but if that was the only problem, I could live with that. Plus, the tow truck driver was punctual, friendly, and helpful. When we arrived at AutoTech, I told the man working the desk what had happened.

He told me it would be $80 to run a full diagnostic, check the fluids, etc. We had just received this vehicle from a relative, so I figured a thorough diagnostic run up would be worth the money, so I agreed. The total charge of these tests matched his quote. I received a call from Auto Tech letting me know that we had certain codes coming up in the diagnostic, but that these might simply be due to attempting restarts after the car broke down.

They told me that they'd "clear the codes" and would keep working. I received a subsequent call the following day, letting me know that the car was running and that the original codes were not appearing anymore. He suggested either a tune up, or just taking it home and seeing if it happened again. This is not in line with what I expect from a mechanic. Basically, he was telling me that they couldn't tell what was wrong with my truck.

I was very hesitant to drive the thing home without knowing, as it might just break down again and I'd have to pay another $65 towing charge. I asked the guy if the battery was all right. Although not a mechanic by any means, this seemed logical - electrical issue = bad battery. He told me that the battery was fine and that since the car died while I was driving it, a battery issue would not be enough to explain my problems.

He asked if I wanted them to do the tune up (very expensive - new serpentine belt, new spark plugs, etc.). I asked him again if the battery was sound and he repeated that it was fine, and then rudely told me he was on the other line and needed an answer so he could attend to the other call. I did not care for the guy's attitude, so told him that I would just come pick up the car the following day and drive it for a while to see if I had any additional problems.

When I came to pick up the car, another older man was working. This guy was fairly friendly. I asked for a print out of the diagnostic tests. He seemed a little reluctant (maybe that was just me, though), but eventually printed something out after changing a sentence on the screen. There was also another sheet he was going to copy. He then tells me that the battery failed a "load test". Had I known this, I would have had them replace the battery. However, the other guy had told me on the phone that the battery was fine. UGH!

The original guy wasn't around, so the older gentleman told me that he would check with this guy and, to his credit, offered to put a new battery in labor-free. At this point, I was frustrated and just wanted to get home. Plus, I knew how to put a battery in myself, so I politely declined, and he went to copy the diagnostic sheet. Oddly, he only copied one side of the thing.

At this point, I didn't see a need to argue and left. I got the truck home and drove it about once every other day - initially around the block, then down to the store, etc. It then sat for about four days without me starting it, and then it wouldn't start. It was completely dead. I just put a new battery in it and it started easily. BTW - The original battery was no longer secured. Anyway, after about five minutes running in the driveway with the new battery, it died.

I restarted it three more times, and each time it died after a few minutes. Now, although the electrical devices all work properly, it won't turn over. The engine light came one while it was running, so I have to assume some codes were generated. Now, I am stuck with a dead truck in the driveway after spending $65 on a tow, $80 on a diagnostic run up that found no problems (except a failed load test on the battery that I wasn't told about until I came to pick up the truck), and ~$100 on a new battery. I have been as neutral as possible. Hopefully, this review will help you decide if Auto Tech is the right place to take your vehicle.
