Auto Care Plus has been a family run Auto Repair shop providing quality auto repairs since 1984. The original location, which is still rocking and rolling today, is located at 738 Daniel Webster Hwy in Merrimack, NH. It wasn't until 2011 that the 2nd Auto Care Plus location came to be in Manchester, NH right on Candia Road (exit 6 off Route 93).
Because the auto industry is constantly changing, Auto Care Plus continually invests in the latest technology and state-of-the-art equipment. Hi-tech cars also require highly skilled technicians. That's why you'll find an ASE-certified technician under the hood of your car at Auto Care Plus. We refer to them as technicians, not mechanics, and we've made the investment in recruiting and training the best technicians possible to work on your car. Because we believe a happy customer is our best advertising.
Auto Care Plus has been providing quality car care in Merrimack, NH since 1984 and in Manchester since 2011. We opened our third in South Portland, ME in May of 2013. We recently opened our fourth and fifth locations in Wolfboro and Conway, NH in 2014 and 2016. Our 6th location in Hooksett opened in 2017.
We have specialist on staff servicing Audi, VW, Porsche, BMW, Mini, Land Rover, Mercedes, Volvo & Lexus. Since 1985, our European Import Division doing business as Importech has provided quality auto repairs and maintenance to North Conway, the Mount Washington Valley, and beyond. We work on foreign and domestic cars and trucks, including diesels, utilizing an extensive array of diagnostic computers and information to help us repair vehicles accurately and quickly.We can work on new cars without voiding the manufacturer's warranty.

Took it in for a break inspection because I noticed reduced stopping power on my 2009 Chevy Malibu. They ended up doing an regular inspection as well as a break inspection despite me only asking for the breaks. I told them that they apologized and didn't charge me for the inspection so they're good with that. They came back to me and said that I needed new calipers, rotors and pads in the rear (I did) but they quoted me $1300! An outrageous price for that, I called around and got multiple quotes of roughly $580 for the same job. They seemed nice enough but the prices were way too high

They are very proffessional and fixed our car correctly and punctually after we broke down on the highway and had it towed to them however they doubled the cost of the 1 part we needed. I cant find that part a fuel pump for more than 400$ average but they charged us over 800$ for the part this left me with barely enough money to make it home i feel like it was a true highway robbery.

Slightly shocked that this place is not a flat 5 stars. Great service, great customer service. John and whole team are very professional and knowledgable. When you find a gem like this place you don't look for any other place. Easy transactions, more than needed information to the customers. Straight up honest and great. I got both of my cars inspected and the process was very simple and easy! Their reports are great as well - a full detailed report with pictures was sent directly to my email. The staff is very friendly and non-pushy as well. I dealt with John L & Teresa both times and they were both great to work with! Thanks again! Service: General repairs & maintenance

Not your average place to get your car fixed. Called Sullivan Tire because it was right next door in case I needed to walk back when they checked it. problem was they said it would take them 3 days to even look at it. Went online and this was the first place that popped up and let's just say I'm glad it did. I called around 1 pm and was able to have our car looked at by 3 pm.

They diagnosed the problem, showed all the pictures of what's wrong including the severity of it and explained why. On top of that I was not expecting the car back by the next morning and on top of that me, my girlfriend and her son got a ride from Teresa to our place and back. Don't be surprised if this place starts a bed and breakfast while they're at it. Thank you to John, Teresa and everyone else at the shop. It was greatly appreciated. Will definitely be going here from now on.

I left two new trailer tires to be balanced early Saturday morning, and noted 'no rush' to John, the Service Tech who assisted me. He called me at 6:30 pm that same day, after their working hours had ended, to let me know he was still at the shop, and I could drop by to pick up the tires. John indicated almost no balancing was needed, so no charge was levied. Could not ask for faster, more friendly, or customer-centric service! John was fantastic from start to finish. Great folks, recommended!

First time taking my vehicle here. Needed oil change and had check engine light on. I was pleased with the service and communication from them. My favorite part was that once the issue was identified, they provided pictures of the problem areas. This was great so I could see for myself what was going on without needing to be right there even. I will definitely be returning for the next time my vehicle needs service.

I had a state inspection done as we just moved back to NH. They were backed up so Theresa offered to take me home and pick me up when the car was ready. Great service, great attitude, and now I'm a customer for new tires and an alignment. Thanks for Teresa and Jeff solid advice!

Love the staff at Auto Care Plus! Jason explained everything so I could understand what was going on with my car. Angela made my day! She gave me a ride to and from work. When I picked up my car, I could not believe what a difference there was in my brakes. It was fantastic!

I recently moved back to Merrimack when the used car I had just bought started having issues. I was recommended to go to Auto Care Plus and they have been amazing. Because the issue was unclear, they were very honest about the possible price and it ended up being just half of that. They went above and beyond helping me get home because I'm a single mom dragging my daughter around for this and I didn't have rides.

They delivered my car to me the next day. Who does that? I am very impressed by the super friendly service and honesty. I hope my car won't have issues but if it does, I will be back.

With my findings brakes were not seized and there was a leak by the exhaust hanger were the cat is. Still doesn't justify 2000+ bogus quote. Unless you guys charge 500$ an hour for shop time. That's worse than a dealership. If you had given a fair quote at first I'm sure we could have worked something out but with material alone being under a grand how do you justify for a max 4 hours of shop time to be 2k+. I'm all for supporting locals and I understand people need to make money but being taken advantage of because someone doesn't know isn't fair. I'll give you 2 stars because I know you have some solid mechanics there as for quotes though cmon we both know you had plenty of wiggle room

I had a great experience which I wanted people to know so posting here. I had a check engine light on. Was worried considering these issues gets very tricky and expensive. When I went back to pick my vehicle, they did not charge me anything as they had worked few months back for related issue. I really liked the utmost honesty and being proud of their workmanship. I am sure this attitude is going to take them to greater heights of success. I will certainly ask my friends and neighbor to go to them.

A bit concerned. We inherited a vehicle that my 89 year old mother in law had. She has always been meticulous about keep records. Thousands and thousands of dollars to this establishment, and continually. Not sure if they are truly a reputable place. Car works, however a whole new exhaust system, new (fill in the blank). idk seems like they have tsken advantage of elderly people.

Update to first review: Returned to the east coast 8 months later and our 1991 Chevy developed a bad axle. Received the same outstanding service and great price. Subsequently drove across the entire country with no issues.

The reason I can't give a 5 star review. the check-out process is quite frustrating for me. There needs to be an easier way to get people out the door when their car is done. Usually it's because there is only one person at the desk. They are very good about explaining the issues with the vehicle and options to the customers. But please just take my money and gimme my keys, I gotta go!

**********RUN********** this place is horrendous. I paid over $2000 for work to be done only to to be given more problems. I realized when I picked up my car I had an ice coffee thrown in my backseat along with finding my sunglasses had been broken. Upon talking to the manager about this he gave me his sincerest of apologies which I accepted, only to find that my windshield had also been broken during the repairs. not only that but within less then 24 hours of getting my car there was a new issue with the brake lights. it was like a bad dream. they agreed to fix the window and did. kinda. they neglected to preserve my inspection sticker now I need a new one. I've been by 3 times to try and get one. the last time I tried to get my sticker the manager took my vehicle around the back of the building to "work" on it. he comes back to show my that my check engine light is now on and I'll have to return another time.

I went down the road to another shop and got my sticker right away and they told me my new windshield was not installed properly. HAHAHAHA. I tried a new shop and I suggest you do the same.

Went in for an inspection sticker. Did not use my normal mechanic only because they were close to work. Had first appt of the day and the inspection took close to an hour. They took it for a road test then dismantled the car. It's an older car so I assumed they would find something being this aggressive. I was not looking to "beat" the system as my child rides in this car but this was so excessive.

They listed 4 failures and they disconnected my battery and then left me to connect it when it wouldn't start! Took the car to my mechanic with all their info and let's just say they had a chuckle at auto cares findings. I did need to replace tires, which was the only finding and was given a sticker. Moral here.if you value your time, avoid them.

If your car is not a current year model, avoid them. Was disappointed with my experience at this shop as I think I was viewed as a possible new customer based on their findings.

I went to this business in hopes of being treated fairly and honestly, but they really pulled one on me. I have no experience or education when it comes to cars so I have a lot of anxiousness when it comes to getting repairs done, or even just to get a diagnoses of the problem. I spoke to John L. and he was very willing to get me started on diagnosing my car issue.

He did not inform me about a price before taking my car in, and of course I wasn't expecting it to be free, but it is totally unfair not to mention something like that upfront. I was there for about an hour, and when John told me what was going on with my car, he did so in a very business oriented way without explaining the best way to go about it or specific details to help me understand more.

He spent about three minutes going over that and let me know it was going to cost around $600. for an hour job. I then departed letting them know I would get back to them. Feeling a certain amount of distrust already, I called a family member who knows more about cars than I do, and they got it done for me at around half the price, and found out that what had been diagnosed on my car was only half true.

I never ever write reviews because sucks to suck, but this was just so degrading and unfortunate because I was so looking forward to a place that I could trust for all my car repairs in the future and they really led me astray. I'm sure they have quality mechanics and have obviously been successful as a business and kudos to them for that, but I would always get a second opinion if you are feeling any uncertainness or feel like you are being taken advantage of. Customer service is what will make you the money at the end of the day.

I've primarily gone to dealerships to have work done on cars but my friend suggested I give Auto Care Plus a try. I needed to have my engine light checked, brakes replaced and an oil change done. I worked with Lew at the shop and couldn't have been more pleased! He called me the same day I dropped it off to let me know what the issues were, give me the cost of everything and ask how I would like to go forward. We went ahead with the repair and due to the better than dealership pricing, professionalism and friendly service we received, will be going there for now on!

Lou at Auto Care had a look at my car after having creaking noises coming from the front end. While they weren't able to find anything wrong with the car, they did confirm that everything was safe to drive and gave me advice on what steps to take next. They were very honest with me and before throwing parts at the car recommended I take the issue up with the dealer. Quick and honest service!

Went to get a smog test that i had an appointment for. It took 3 hours just to get it on the lift. They qouted me itd be 65$ but then said all they had to do is reconnect a hose and charged me another hour of labor just for that even though the whole process of the test took 20 minutes. 135$ later i still fail my emissions even though they said id pass.

I have had my Honda Accord serviced here twice now. Each time my car was taken on time, and all services were done fast (I waited there) and at the price quoted. The staff is friendly and very thorough. Autocare Plus is so much more convenient and infinitely more pleasant than going to a dealership for service.

I have had two cars serviced by them, a Honda Civic and a Mini Cooper. I had new tires installed on my Honda Civic back in 2009. The tires were a great price, wore slowly, but were really loud and provided a stiff ride. It was my first experience changing tires so I didn't know what to ask. Overall though, the service was good and the customer service was great.

I had tires replaced on my Mini Cooper. I worked with the employee to find a tire that met my requirements - good in the snow, decent price, but provided a smooth ride. He was patient, friendly, advice and wasn't pushy. Its been a few months now and the tires are excellent. I'm very happy with my service.
