Sam Houston, one would think you're driving up to a professional office building rather than an auto body shop. The main office building is surrounded by graceful landscaping combined with a stone fountain in front that'll make you think of Old Mexico. I had my vehicle towed here b/c of an accident, the tow truck driver recommended I use Atlas b/c they were very reputable and secure. So I agreed to the tow and never did he explain to me all hidden fees that were to come! I should of known by the name of his truck.same company Atlas. The city contracts them for accidents and they screw the customer's by sending to their body shop for storage.

But fail to explain the hidden cost and fees. I would of paid $175 to get it towed to my house, I went next to get it moved and had to pay well over $300.00 in their mumble jumble admin fees. What a rip off! Never will I use this company and never will I recommend them to anyone ever!

My car was rear ended and I took it to Atlas to be fixed. I can't say enough about Gil and the office staff. I was updated by email as to how the job was progressing. When I picked my car up it looked perfect as if it had never been hit! They have even followed up with me to be sure everything is ok. Would recommend Gil and staff to anyone! Karen H

Pretty big body shop, they fixed my crashed car & even cleaned it. The office was really Boujee and clean, the front desk lady was nice and helped me quickly. Gilbert was cool and explained everything they did to my vehicle, I trust them to fix my car again

They had my classic 89 Corvette 8 months never finished repairing my vehicle Chris general manager is it real piece of cake, extorted me out of over 11,000 dollars and lied to me about the work being done on my car when I picked it up it was in pieces the paint job had chips and cracks in was not finished, I rate them at-10

Well if I could rate it zero Stars I would. Had first hand experience with the owner and a classic vehicle that was being repaired there I have not seen worse service ever before my life. General manager is a extortion expert. General manager also pencil whipped a bill for $11,000 on work that was obviously not done on the vehicle as I saw the vehicle that day it was worse than it was when we brought it in.

Don't be fooled by the fancy front lobby chances are it was bought with extorted money from insurance companies and uninformed customers that were taking advantage of I read in the reviews it seems to be a growing trend there I don't normally write reviews but this definitely had to be said.

Buyer Beware! I was in a pinch and the tow truck driver told me this shop was close. I called and spoke to Elizabeth. The ladies in the office were great. However, definitely down hill from there. After 6 days and $400 later. I still had no estimate. I spoke to the owner who seemed like a decent guy but I ultimately decided to go with another shop due to Alberts rude (and far too busy to help you) attitude. I wish I would have read the reviews first.

I wouldn't recommend this place I had a slight fender bender minor dent! The insurance company wanted to tell me that my car was a total loss because Atlas body shop was making major changes to my car and billing them excessively so the insurance company was not going to pay more! And decide it was a loss they weren't going to pay more then the total value of car don't see how this minor dent made it a loss.

They fixed the opposite light and try to tell me that the accident was on the left r side of the car when it was obviously on the right side and left that light broken fixing stuff that didn't need to be fixed just to get payed more and left me with a broken light where the impact was.this place lmost left me and my daughter with out a vehicle!would not recommend thell over charge insurance company

We recently had some hail damage on my husbands vehicle during the recent hailstorms. Atlas made the process of restoring the vehicles condition so easy. We called in advance for what was needed, they had our rental ready the day we scheduled to drop off the vehicle, the vehicle was returned in the timeframe we were given and the quality was amazing.

My husband is in the Army and knowing that this a veteran owned shop I would encourage any service member to trust their vehicles to them. As far as their customer service it has been the best I've experienced in a very long time. I wish I remembered the receptionist name, but she was very kind, organized and thorough. Enrique the technician who worked on his vehicle personally walked through with me to ensure quality and we ran into the owner Chris on our way out and he made it a point to ask how our experience was. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Could have given 5 stars if they explained the delay ahead before I eventually complained. They called me that my car is ready for pick up and I went to the shop around 9 am, and my car was not ready. I met the coordinator and he said my car will be out shortly. I have waited more than an hour. The receptionist lady is very polite and kind. She deserves 5 stars.

They promised to update with me the progress but have not contacted me on the timely manner. I know its end of the year and holiday season but, 'as soon as possible' is not the sufficient answer to the question, 'when do you expect to get the job done' for a hesitant customer. The overall work is fine but needs to pay attention to the detail. They forgot put the little cap back on the tire.

DO NOT use this body shop! After getting approval from insurance Atlas took 3 weeks to complete my trunk. Enrique gave this long story of how they have been in business for over 70 years. Initially I was told my car would be ready on the 15th. On the 15th I received a text message not a phone call that my car would not be ready until the 28th. I was in San Antonio for work and replied that I would be stranded. Enrique did not respond.

Suddenly Enrique was no longer at work. I was told he had to go out of town due to his mother in law catching Covid. A little communication would have been nice from his end. A few days later I was told my car only needed to be painted. It took over 3 days to get painted. On the 25th the GM Chris Leal called to let me know my car was ready. Shortly he called backed to ask if there was a pre existing condition of my car having a "keyless access system problem". Turns out they didn't plug in a part inside the trunk.

The morning of the 26th I was told my car was ready to be delivered to me just to be called back again stating they were waiting on a payment of almost $1000 from the insurance company and after they received confirmation of payment in process they would deliver my car. I was hit it was not my company. They eventually delivered my car. When I received copies the payment was only for 571 dollars and some change. I am grateful for the color being correct but I now have to slam my trunk in order for it to shut. Overall I am not a satisfied customer.

Great customer service experience and exceeded my expectations in quality collision repair on my car. Kudos to the staff throughout the office that are engaged in taking pride in their work for Atlas Body shop. The individuals who helped me were attentive, professional, easy to communicate with.

If in the unfortunate event you get into an accident, DO NOT have your car taken in by this shop. unless you're down for being without a car for 1 month (and counting) after the "estimated date" of completion. No communication. Deceitful company. Hiked up the price and charging the insurance even more after finishing it a month late and is holding the car even after the deductible was paid on our end. Having to pay for a rental out of pocket because of what they're doing is awful, so long story short - DON'T GO HERE. It's a wonder they're so highly rated on Google.

UPDATE JULY 2020 My brake's sensor lights has revealed to me by a different mechanic that Atlas Body Shop gave me a faulty job. So much for waiting on a good lasting job.

I must say I wish I would've checked here before using their service. Had service done which was good work yet received a check afterwards and they refused to sign it as it was a two party check. Making things much more difficult then it truly needs to be. I won't take any more business here!

Gilbert and staff are very deceitful and unhelpful. I was in a car accident 3 weeks ago and Kia recommended this shop so I had my vehicle towed to this location. With no written authorization nor verbal agreement they decide to start disassembling my vehicle and started "Repairs" I decided a day later I wanted to tow to Select 1 and allow them to do the job to save money, I spoke with Gilbert here at Atlas told him about my financial situation and he assured me he would help me save money and work with me on my deductible. ALL LIES! Worst customer service experience ever. I would not trust these guys.

We had an accident 2 weeks ago, we found Atlas shop close by. Rented a car and left the damaged vehicle for repair. Today I picked it up and the listed below is my family's feelings about this body shop: 1- Customer Service = WOW @ 10/10 2- Repair Quality = WOW @ 10/10 3- Car Rental Services = WOW @ 10/10 In one word here is my summary, if you want excellency and perfection, all you have to do is going to ATLAS Amazing team work and wonderful care. Had a great experience with atlas body shop on body damage to my truck. It looks amazing! Very pleased with the work that was done. The owner went above & beyond to help me out & so did the staff. Chris leal was very patient with me in explaining the process and kept informed in the progress. Highly recommend atlas body shop

I was so appreciative of what i experienced today at Atlas Body shop, My son car was totaled and from the time we walked in I was a little unsure because there are places that will not take care of you. But when i met Gilbert and he talked to me and was very friendly and so caring and respectful and answered every question I had, I was so happy and glad that our car was towed to that location.

Thank you Gilbert for making us comfortable and helping this situation easier to deal with. Your Awesome! I also would like to say thank you to Steven if it wasn't for him me and my son would probably still be working down there on the car lol, I am so appreciative of him, Usually as a customer service person these days people are not so helpful but Steven gave us good advice and assisted us in what we needed to get everything done, to our vehicle that was totaled he went above and beyond that's what I call it and you dont get that these days, Thank you so much Steven and GOD bless you I hope you get a big fat bonus or something for being a great employee. They did a great job and really wants to take care of their customers. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Which is VERY important to me. I was involved in a hit and run and did not have insurance. They really helped me as far as paying out of pocket. JR was awesome and put me first. I highly recommend using Atlas Body Shop!

Atlas was on point every step of the way. JR was easy to work with from estimate to delivery. Cost of the work was very competitive (half of some other estimates). The other people wanted my truck for a whole week. I spent 20 minutes there for the estimate, 15 minutes there for a color match, and 6 hours for the work! Highly recommended.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. The WORST customer service follow up. They say they will call and they don't. car has taken 10X longer then I was told. Poor follow up, lies about work completed. Was told it was ready for paint so I stopped by 2 days later and the mangled fender was still in vehicle. I wouldn't wish this place on an enemy.

This is the worst example of providing a service that I have ever seen. I know a thing or two about service since I have served my country 14 years. It took me 3 days to get a status update. A status update. Mr. Gilbert says he'll call back to let me know if my car will be ready, but doesn't call until I'm on my way. He calls to tell me the technicians are gone.

I should have received a call saying they were leaving or gone. Without customers an organization cannot provide a service. I hope this resonates throufh out that business. If not the BBB complaint should. Unsatisfactory customer service.

My daughter and I went to get her car that had been in an accident from this shop it was towed to after accident. These folks are a piece of work. Took over 6 weeks, with no updates. When we called to check status, we were lied too several times. When we finally went to get the car, the absolute nightmare started. I will not go into the long disrespectful, lying, unprofessional, unethical owner and son's collective tag team. I'm rather new to Texas, and was shoked at their very openly poor service.

They flipped a "B". If your military or family of, do not use this place. We both are military women. My daughter is active and Im retired, they didn't give a dam about service or safety didn't matter. Her car was T-Boned and pushed over 500 yards. I specifically asked for the nearly new tires and brakes to be safety checked after such a hit.

No not done and lied about that too. If you read this Non recommendation and still decide to use this place, then its not their fault, because you were told. If I could give a negative star rating I would! Too sad really.

Representatives rarely answer the phone and take hours to return your call. It took over 24 hours to place two clips in the bumper and wash my Jeep while I sat and waited without a vehicle. Prior to that they ordered the wrong parts and didn't realize it until three days after not touching my Jeep. You can't spell incompetence any clearer when talking about Atlas.

Not to mention they keep all the vehicles waiting to be repaired on the roof of their shop. I payed a lot of money on my car and a lot of money at Atlas and they treated me and my car like shit. Atlas is a terrible business. Do not ever go there.

Nationwide sent me to this bodyshop to get an estimate. I had an appointment at 2:00 pm. I arrived at 1:35 and was told that my adjustor was out of the office and should be back shortly. I waited almost 30 minutes when I heard the receptionist asking other employees to do my estimate both gentleman refused. I asked how much longer and she stated that there was no one to do my estimate. I waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Horrible customer service.

Seriously such a disappointing experience with this shop! They have had my car for a month and 2 weeks! I lost my second job over it. My rental expired from my insurance and have been car less for 3 weeks now. They took WAY TOO LONG AND MADE PROMISES AFTER PROMISES of it being ready by this date to this date and it wasnt. I'm picking it up tomorrow And God willing IT IS TOMORROW FOR SURE and not some other excuse that they need to paint it, blah blah blah I'm beyond PISSED OFF from this experience with them I will gladly tell everyone to find ANOTHER PLACE. screw Atlas.

Had my vehicle repaired here late last year. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. As the other review said, it started off great, and as it went along it went bad. At a quick glance, it looked as if my vehicle was not that bad. They came back with a $12,000 repair. The vehicle was only 1 1/2 years old, so I told them I wanted all new, OEM parts. They agreed and sent the estimate off to my insurance.

After a few more back and forths, the repairs started. After 2 months (3 weeks past their due date) I got my car back. When they called me to tell me it was ready, they said they found "previous damage" to the front suspension. I'm no dummy, and knew I had hit nothing with the car at all before. They played it down and said the alignment came out fine anyways so not to worry about it. Driving home, I took a turn and my entire front wheel shifted and jammed into the front of my wheel well and it wouldn't drive! Luckily I was not on the highway. Called to tell them what happened and they said a truck would come to pick it up in the morning.

Morning came. no truck. My wife waiting until 10:00PM and then called. She was told that damage was not from the accident and that we would have to pay for it to be towed! Before my accident, my car drove with no issue, let alone being STUCK. I ended up taking it to the dealer, and they found a bent control arm and strut. Being very upset about this, I requested ALL documentation of parts, work, hours, so on. Turned out, they put a USED quarter panel on my vehicle without telling me, against my requests, and CHARGED me for a NEW one!

There were other major things they missed, and some of their work quality was bad. Found a lot of over spray, chips on the doors they painted, RUST 2 weeks after. list goes on. What it comes down to, is they wanted the job. This car should have been totaled. Luckily, with the help of Collision Safety Consultants, I was able to have my car inspected to make sure it was safe. Structurally, they said the repair was good to go. Cosmetically, they had a bunch of flaws, not to mention the lying to me!

I wouldn't have even a Hotwheel car repaired here ever again, nor trust them to tell the truth. In the end, I worked out a deal with the owner that I was satisfied with to get some of my money back. I could have taken them to court, but I did not want to deal with that hassle being my wife was away with the Air Force when this was happening. They give a lifetime guaranty on their work, so WHEN (not if) I find any issue, it will be going back to them for the simple fact it wil not sot me anything.

Honestly I think this place is a little deceitful. They start out with great service trying to lure you in as a potential customer and gradually wears off as your car is getting completed. The actual damage done to my car was fixed with decent results(which is what the 2 stars are for) but the rest, not so much. During the process of getting my car fixed, I would check my car at the shop physically every other day for about 3 weeks.

The rear windshield taken off, right rear door taken off with the trunk exposed. The whole time the interior of the car is exposed to a crap ton of dust and whatever is floating around in the building. They never fully try to even keep the interior covered. I also gave the manager(Gilbert) specific tasks that i wanted done to the car but was not happy with the results.

I had 2 tires of the same brand and ordered 2 more of the same type so that i would end up with 4 similar tires. Nope! Ended up with 3 similar tires and 1 old tire that was previously on the vehicle before i took it to this shop. All they had to do was put the 2 front tires to the rear and put the 2 new tires in the front. Told the manager about this and he said he'll look into it and give me a call back.still waiting for a phone call about this 2 weeks after i got my car back so i assume he doesnt care.

Manager also says that they do a "full detail" of the car once everything is put back into place. I gotta say what the hell is a "full detail" to them? I knew all that dust accumulated in the interior of my car during the process and could see it everytime i came for a visit. Basically its like they took a rag or a duster and just wiped or dusted the interior without even trying to make it look good at all. Theres still an abundance of brown dust on the most obvious surfaces.

The interior of the car also has a nasty smell of that building and still cannot get rid of after 2 kinds of air fresheners. Trunk was super dirty as well like it was never vacuumed at all. Tires were missing the plugs for air. Now here's the deceitful part of this place. I had a check from the insurance sent to them and i can see the details of the quote that added up to the sum of the check.

I specifically did not want the affected rim to be refurbished which would give me that amount to get another tire, hence 2 new tires. So the amount that i would have to pay out of pocket should be less than one hundred dollars. Well, in the end, had to pay more than a hundred dollars for the second tire even though the amount to refurbish the rim and a fifty dollar military discount applied.

When i asked about this, they basically said they did all the calculations and it came to that amount. And they had no way to prove it to show a military discount was even applied. Overall, to anyone having their vehicles fixed by this place, would not recommend it. To all the military folks (fort sam houston is right next to this place) stay away! Felt like the end product didn't live up to their expectations or yours.
