Ed left me without a car for 2 weeks. I was told it was be checked the day I got it towed there. I called every day to ask about my car and all Ed kept saying was that he would call me back and that no one had time to check it yet. I know he never checked it because I drove to the shop it was at and saw my car sitting in the same spot in the mud so I had to pay to get it towed somewhere else just to get it looked it. They lied and gave me the run around the whole time as if people don't need their cars to get to work

Do not go to this shop. It took close to 2 months to replace my transmission that could've taken all of 2-3 days maybe a week. Owner is not helpful and will not call with updates. I do a lot of work on my own cars and they ran into trouble with a problem I gave them the solution to which added another 1.5 weeks. Oil was left on my roof from it sitting underneath another car. Good was also tied down by zip ties and not closed when I picked it up. This isn't a good shop to take ur car

Big thumbs up for the quality of service at Atlantic Transmission Service. Mainly dealt with Corey, who was great about explaining what was going on with our vehicle, and then went above and beyond with making sure we got our transmission repaired and working properly for safety and long-term reliability. I really appreciate all the work these folks put in for us. Vehicle worked on was a 2008 Ford E-450, a shuttle bus being converted into our mobile tiny home. These guys rock. Thanks Corey!

My 07 Chevy Tahoe has been to Atlantic twice. The first time was more than likely due to my not checking and changing the fluid at the proper intervals. My fault. Had it dropped off. They promised it would be done within a week, got it back in 3 days. Ran like a new truck. The second time, which was a little over 2 years later, had to have it towed back in due to some catastrophic damage. Again, not checking my fluid level.
Both times, I dealt with the owner, Ed. Took a few more days than the first repair, but, that was because of the damage. $1656 worth of damage. Once again, rides like it's new and I can barely tell that it's shifting. It's an 11 year old Chevy with a workhorse of an engine under the hood. The GM 5.3. Hope I never have to have another transmission rebuilt, but, if I do, I know where to go to get it done right, for a reasonable price and a reasonable amount of turn around time.
I'm a customer for life. Ps, the tow company that Chevy Roadside sent to pick up my truck from I-95, damaged the air dam on the front of my truck. It was hanging when he dropped it at my house the night before I had it towed to Atlantic. For some unknown reason, the guys at Atlantic fixed it without charging me for it. Your choice, but, I'd say, a shop that does everything these guys do, deserves my business.

Went in with a leak, due to my stupidity. I ended up cross-threading a bolt, but not bad. Only about 1 or 2 threads. I kept asking Corey what he was charging me, since my entire family has been going there for years, and they know my family. I informed Corey that I wasn't working at the time, and after asking how much I was being charged, I kept getting the same response, "I'll take care of you!" I get a call that my car is finished. I goto pick it up, and $286 later, I can drive my car away. IDK about any of you, but $286 for 1 slightly cross-threaded bolt is NOT, TAKING CARE OF ME!

Corey and the entire team at Atlantic Transmission Service are the best at what they do. Their customer service is unmatched and they really take the time to explain their action steps so that the customer walks away fully understanding what has been done. I highly recommend the Atlantic team and will use them again in the future.

Very helpful and knowledgeable people. Overhauled the transmission in my Camry in amazing time. They are also very flexible and will help you get a rental car if you need one at an awesome price! Corey is very kind and extremely professional, and a technician himself. He explained exactly what went wrong in my transmission and was willing to keep and show me the parts.
Its so difficult to find such a honest shop nowadays. I will recommend everyone I can to them. And also an FYI: They do general repairs as well and very competitive pricing. They did the brakes on my wife's Expedition as well. I will bring my car to them for everything I need! Ed the owner is also very easy to deal with. His team is very professional and always willing to go the extra step to make sure I was happy.
I don't know how they got any negative reviews honestly! I'd give them more then 5 stars if I could! Thank you guys again and I will be very sure to recommend everyone I can to you!

I had my car towed there for a diagnostic check, a transmission rebuilt, radiator converted to a hose and replace a cracked mount. My car was clean from the outside and inside with no damages on the inside of my vehicle. When I picked up my car was dirty inside and out cigarette ashes on the front seat of my car, my front seat side panel where you control the adjustments for your seat was hanging off to the point you can see the memory board.
It's hard to steer and make a U-turn my power steering is off and 2 days later and my check engine light came on I'm so through with this shop. I called and left a message for ED the manage and never got a call back. Now I have to take my car to the dealer to make sure that this shop done the correct job that I pay for so I got a feeling that they gave me a used transmission and everything else.
You pay for cheap work here but you get cheap shoddy work done to your car. You better off paying more at the dealer at least they will do the right work and make sure your car is clean and not dirty and wont give it to you any kind of way.

I had traveled over 500 miles from out of state with my elderly aunt to help settle the affairs of my recently deceased brother. Once in Baltimore, I heard a horrible noise coming from my rear tire. I knew this problem couldn't wait and was in a pickle as to where I could go to have this repair made without receiving the big ripoff. My brother in law uses Atlantic Transmission for his commercial fleet and highly recommended them.
I was not disappointed and they were able to repair the right brake caliper, both rear rotors and brake pads in less than a full day. Kudos to them for giving me peace of mind, not charging a fortune, and making the necessary repairs to keep my family safe on the return trip. They were good to me and I'm paying it forward with a great review.

I took my truck there to replace my transmission Mr. Ed told me it would be fix in three weeks took five months. Every time i called it was something different. When i got my truck back there was another issues with something that had nothing to do with why i brought it to him in the first place. I took it to the dealer mechanic and he told me who ever worked on your truck needed to give you ur money back.
He said the mechanic did not wire your truck back correctly he also cause other issues that was going to cost me 3,000 dollar when I already paid 4,900 dollar for the so called used transmission for my truck. I have called to deal with this matter and I'm not getting any solutions. I will have to take it to the next level. Buyers beware!

Transmission and Differential issues are rare & expensive enough that most mechanics don't have the expertise to go in, locate broken parts, and replace individual components. Therefore, with these types of major issues, most mechanics will advise that you replace the entire transmission, or entire axle assembly, rather than fixing the specific problem.
In my case, my '04 Dodge Ram had a bad rear differential, and I received a quote of $2600 from another shop to replace my rear end with the rear end off an old ram axle/differential from a junk yard truck. I looked for a place that specialized in transmissions and differentials, and ended up speaking to Ed on the phone. He explained to me that for my particular truck, it was cheaper to rebuild the entire differential from scratch with brand new parts than it was to obtain a used rear end shipped from a junk yard, not even including installation.
I made some phone calls to local junk yard inventories, and found that he was correct.
Ed quoted me $1200-$1500 for the job, and called me halfway through the job to let me know that there weren't as many damaged components as they had anticipated, and the final cost would be less than the original quote. I ended up paying less than $1000 for a job that I originally feared would cost over $2500.
My truck has been running great for 3,000 miles since the repair. It is great to find honest mechanics. They easily could have charged me another $400-$500 without me ever knowing the difference. They also left all the old broken/replaced parts in a box in the truck without me even asking for it. That is a sign of an honest mechanic - it proves they replaced the broken parts, and to allow you to see exactly what the damage was to the old ones if you care to take a look.
