One of the oldest shops in GV. My smog was fast and courteous. Really appreciate you guys

I've been going to Arch's since the early 90's and they do excellent work. On the maybe 2 occasions where I didn't like the way something was done they always corrected it to my satisfaction without any hassle and, considering this is over a 30+ year period, that's a great track record!

When I pulled up at 12:15pm, I asked where to park and if they did smogs, he said yeah you'll have to find a parking spot, then abruptly told me he's closed for lunch ave he'll be back at 1:00pm and just took off. I was the only person there. I'm sorry, if it were my shop, I would have been a lot warmer and said something like." Oh yeah no problem, the only thing is I'm closed for lunch butt I'll get to you first thing when I get back if that's ok" then "Thanks so much see you soon" singling like b that.i would have done the smog first then went to lunch, so I didn't lose paying customers.

I guess they are not worried about losing business. When someone else pulled up I asked the guy, who was still there, working on a truck, if there was a sign- in sheet or something I could sign you hold my spot. He said no, it was first come first serve. I told him yeah that I had been there first and he just shrugged at me and told me that I better park where in the line starts, which I wasn't told about when dude abruptly took off, that basically whoever parks there first will be the one who is served first, no matter who was actually there first. REALLY!? Super aloof and nonchalant about it all.didn't care one way or the other. Maybe they had more important things to do, IDK but the poor customer service was off-putting.

Arch's has been my choice for auto repair since 1971. Great people there!

I find them not to be friendly and nice. I will never go back to this place. When I am there I feel very uncomfortable. When I am there I feel like all I want to do is pick up my stuff and walk out and find another place to go for help with my car. Never been back.

Always take my vehicles here for smog. Excellent customer service and very friendly staff. I'm usually in and out in 20 minutes if there's no one in front of me. Their prices are competitive with everyone else.

These guys are amazing and don't make you feel overwhelmed. Hayden has done my smog the last two years and is super prompt, friendly and helpful with any questions I had. Kevin actually gave me a ride home when my car was overheating! Seriously, if you're looking for a place that's going to treat you like family and is an honest place to take your vehicle. No joke these dudes have your back! I rarely write reviews but I'm SO impressed and need to share. Thanks you guys and I'll see you next year! Best, Winter

Super fast, friendly, and helpful. I appreciate their being willing to answer my ignorant and redundant questions, so that i was completely clear on what i needed to do.

Very friendly and knowledgeable shop! My work van broke down on Highway 20 and I was in a pinch. They fixed it and had me back on the road in very little time! I would definately recommend Arch's to anybody looking for a reputable, professional Auto Repair Shop!

Got a smog check here for about $70. I arrived at 9AM and waited in line for an hour and a half. My smog check took all of 20 minutes to complete (for reference, I drive a 2011 Subaru Impreza). I recommend arriving early - being the first in line, just so you don't get stuck behind an old ass vehicle that takes an hour to check. Not the cheapest shop in the area, but I appreciated the friendly staff and outdoor sitting area.

Money money and more of that. $70 for smog failed me than they want an other $40 to resmog! California smog in auburn charging 43 including certificate, avoid this tin can shack!

I have always brought all my cars here and love them. Excellent customer service, and make getting your car smogged painless. Give them a try - you won't be disappointed.

Dropped off my wife's 03 Xterra for a smog check while I was at work. Picked it up on my lunch break and everything was perfect. There's a current sale for $59 instead of the normal $70 so I was pleased.

Had my 91 f150 smogged here. At first they wanted to fail my truck for having tygon vacuum lines, but they let me go without paying so I could fix it and come back. So I went and installed the correct style of vacuum line, went back and passed. Overall a good experience. Glad they didn't just keep it to themselves, take my money and fail me. Which is what they could have done.

Both techs were nice and weren't bothered by me showing them a few things about my truck that they weren't familiar with. (ex. Best spot to view timing marks, where spout connection was). I will use their services in the future.

Would definitely recommend Arch's. Had my car smogged yesterday.it failed. The needed repair was shown to me and clearly explained. Today the repair was done quickly and the cost of parts and labor was very reasonable. Even though this was a very small repair job, I was given a ride home and picked up when my car was finished. Kevin, Brendan, Chas and the Smog technician were all very professional and friendly. Thanks again for making this state requirement as easy as you could on my patience, time and wallet.

UpDate: 03/18/2016 Yep, I STILL go to Arch's! They do solid and dependable work at a reasonable price. Original Review 7/14/2012: I've been bring my various vehicles to Arch's Auto since the early 1990's and will continue to do so. Over the years my wife and I have tried other repair services in the area, including dealerships, and have never had as good of an experience(s) as I do with Arch's. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Why do I keep coming back to Arch's? Because I trust them!

Have been getting my car smogged here for almost 10 years. I have always felt the smog techs were friendly. Waiting time can be long if you go when it is crowded. You really can't speed up a smog check all those that complain about wait times. I also have had a great experience with arch's repair shop. They are very reasonably priced and know what they are doing. Would definitely recomment this place.

Had a great experience her today while getting my smog done. A little ghetto but service was fast and friendly and it's a smog/mechanic shop not a spa so who cares. Maybe after reading the other 2 reviews I was just lucky but this is my review of how I felt about the place.

They have been here for over 66 years and not one review. Well I get my cars smogged here every time and they are great to work with and have two bays so not much of a wait. I had major work done on my Ranger V-6 and all was good. Never a bad feeling at Arch's. So many people go the I cannot see this lack of reciews. The good ones need help sometimes, Give them a try.

My wife was at Arch's today. Their history of slow service persists. Also, their smog tech apparently wasn't to friendly.
