Use to be a regular customer but the issues caused by improper work are not worth it. 2 different cars with problems from taking them here. Just had to take my car to someone else to fix damaged bearings in the rear of my car and was informed they were messed up from a bad break cleaning and adjustment. This was the last place to touch my breaks. I though I'd give them a chance again but shouldn't have. Had a different car a long time ago that they didn't use proper tools to do a timing belt job and the owner had to fix it himself and made it right but competent work is more important the 1st time around. I'm disappointed because the people here are nice but it's not worth the trouble. I won't be trusting them with anymore vehicles.

Service was friendly and the work was timely. Used a coupon I got in the mail that made it affordable for me. Couldn't finish the alignment because I need to replace some parts so they only charged me for some the labor time (Reason for four instead of five stars). Services: Oil change, Wheel alignment

My favorite place to get anything done from my oil changes to last year the fixed my engine thanks to Kathy for finding me one. I won't ever go anywhere else

They are very personable and welcoming. I was having an issue and a cheap part that was needed was ordered as I waited and since the wait took a while the part and the service was free. Don't get me wrong the part was a couple dollars and the wait was a couple hours. Either way these guys and gal are great!

This is the best auto shop I've ever dealt with. They are highly professional and extremely reasonable. Most importantly, you can trust them.

American Five Star has that old school auto repair shop feel to it, where they treat you like a friend rather than a number. My particular vehicle issue was complicated because I had done my own work in having a transfer case rebuilt by a company out of state. I could not get it to work properly all the time, despite several calls to the rebuilder and replacing several ancillary parts.

Another shop refused to even look at it, but Eric was more than happy to see what he could find out. He originally diagnosed one problem, but on disassembly discovered it was something else. Kathy called me several times along the way, and was completely honest about the entire process. It turns out it needed an expensive OEM part, but they allowed me to research and buy it on my own to save money over the full dealer price.

Who does that!?! Honest and caring mechanics, like the people at Five Star, that's who! It did take a couple of days to get the other parts needed, but again, they were completely honest about the timing and completed the work even sooner than I had thought. The vehicle now works perfectly again. Nothing is cheap anymore, but they charged a fair price for quality work, with no unnecessary add-ons. Bottom line: The myth that there are no honest mechanics anymore has been thoroughly debunked at Five Star!

I came in with a transmission issue. They were friendly and knowledgeable. Every time they came to tell me what was wrong and what they're suggestion was they brought the parts to the lobby to show me the broken part/issue which bolstered my trust in them. One of the guys even walked me back to look at the vehicle to show me exactly what was wrong and explain what needed to be fixed and why.

It's hard sometimes to find a trustworthy mechanic and one that goes to the effort to explain and not talk down to you (especially as a woman), but I definitely felt they were trustworthy and respectful. I will absolutely be coming back with car issues and for regular service. I was very pleased and impressed with their service today.

I was charged almost $200 for the ac door actuator that I found online for $25. I could not find one for over $40. I was told that my engine air filter was dirty and needed a new one which I had just changed 2 days prior and when I checked it at home it was bright white perfectly clean. Edit in response: So it doesn't come with the warranty, I pay for the warranty.

You should not put the price of the warranty included as the price of the part. That's lying, so that's why I was thrown off apparently. There is value in diagnosing correctly, that's why I paid $117 for the diagnostic.

Eric and his team at 5-star are the best! The only mechanic shop I TRUST and will ever go to! They're extremely knowledgeable when it comes to anything Automotive related. I've been going there for years And they always went above amd beyond my expectations! 5 star will never recommend anything but high-quality Parts as it should be. I have never had any issues with this company and always blown away with they're quality of work and detail. With both diesel and gas vehicles. they are quick with installs and fixes. Eric and his team at American 5-star once again saved the day by quickly repairing my classic Datsun 240Z. Even classic, upgraded cars are no problem for them. From replacing the starter, fan clutch and brake booster, they do it all. And their preliminary cost estimate is always spot on. And special thanks to Kathy for always being super helpful and polite.
