Acura-Honda Westlake Independent Service & Repair

Shop that has over 25 years of service excellence. I was a customer 5 years ago and due this incident, I stopped going. But because my other repair shop did not do wheel balance and an engine check light came one for a third time. I decided to return. Chad took a look at the vehicle first(1999 Honda accord coupe)found it needed a new timing belt, which I let him fix, had a suspension which he said was the cv boots, had him fix. and told need a new clutch and clutch bearing (at a cost of 1600 dollars, I decided to wait).

He found he battery almost dead, since it was under warranty replaced it for free. When I drove my car off the lot(cost of about 1200 dollars). The clutch made a terrible sound(like a grinding when accelerating, ) lots of enigne vidbration and a booming in the clutch. I turned around told him the what I was hearing. Me and one of his mechanics drove the car and said it was fine, but I needed a new clutch and bearing.

There was also a rattling coming from the front suspension. The battery went dead the next day and the car could not be started without a jump start. Called the AAA and they referred me to David Lugwig Automotive Service Specialist, he told me to have it towed to Westlake Independent to have repaired, He'd give me a free tow When I got there Chad, Craig and Dave where there. Craig said the problem was a bad battery cable which he'll replaced or free.

I told Dave I'd have them repair the car. Then next day the car started and ran, but the same problems where still there. I asked Chad how much a new bearing and clutch would cost, it went up, 1900 dollars! I said no thank you and took it to Camarillo Independent He fix the clutch and bearing for 1400 dollars. There are Still suspension problems, a broken engine mount, rattling suspension parts i front end. (after paying 0ver 3,000 dollars in repairs can't afford suspension repair). Westlake independent DID damaged the engine mount, Damaged the clutch, he put the timing belts on too tight and the timing belt cover was not grounded. I will NEVER GO BACK TO THESE CROOKS AGAIN!

This was my first ever car service experience in the US, I have found them through searching auto service centers around in the Google and to be honest, they definitely deserve this 5 star! They are very friendly and professional, they don't think about making money from you, they are committed to a long term business with their customers. I will definitely go there again as long as I live in this area.

The best automotive place ever! It's a diamond in the rough. To find a good, reliable and honest mechanic. Not only do they know me by name but they treat you like family.

Extremely high quality service. These guys are very nice and they provide great repairs. My AC was broken in the middle of July in the Calabasas heat (and I have a black leather interior). I was tight for money and they helped me out and they were very patient with me. They never tried to upsell me and were very honest and up front with me. My AC works fantastic now - I never have to deal with a hot car very long.

Every time I go to Westlake Independent, I am amazed at the level of service, honesty, and thoroughness with which they do their work. I have had major and minor work done over many years. I've been going to Bruce (and his team) at Westlake Independent Automotive for over 20 years. His shop is AAA approved, has trained mechanics and is an honest shop. He has always suggested to me and my family to get the best and most reliable used car (inspected them before I bought them and told me which were good or not) and had them serviced at the proper times.

His service has saved me thousands of dollars over the years. They always know what they are doing and willing to work with you. They also have rental cars for you to drive home while you car is worked on. Thank you again Bruce and everyone for all your help.

Bruce and his staff maintain both of my Hondas. My Accord is always dependable and runs great with 180,000 miles. I've been taking my Honda here for the past 4 years. Bruce and Norman always make sure that I'm aware of the work that needs to be done on my car. I never feel like I'm being taken advantage of and I trust their work. They also provide great value for the work they do. Everyone here is very friendly and I will continue coming back. This is how every auto repair facility should run!

Nice enough people - - but some Automotive maladies are intermittent and to repair most of those problems, the car needs to DEMONSTRATE that particular issue or problem before Mechanics can solve it. My Subaru sat around for ten business days - merely waiting (repeatedly) to show it's problem to these mechanics. They looked & checked again. But never were lucky enough to see my issue repeated while the car was on their premises. Regardless of this frustration (obviously not Mechanics fault) I was not charged at all for their efforts to duplicate this problem. What else can we ask for?
