A little misunderstanding in our phone conversation - they do not work on Audi cars - but Jeff took my car in when I got there, put it on the rack and they diagnosed the leaks in the transmission. He filled with fluid. We called the foreign car shop behind him, he spoke with them for me explaining what he found and helped me make an appointment. They were very kind, friendly (even the dog) and professional. and best of all for no charge. I truly appreciated their kindness.

I went to Doug's Automotive to have front end noise checked out. They said I had a leaky transmission & needed to get it checked out. Since Active was on way home it seemed like a no brainer to stop.

Excellent experience! I was referred here from an auto shop that I trust. I'm generally distrustful of anywhere that does auto repair, so the referral was important to me. I recently purchased a used truck, that recently had the transmission rebuilt. I got a check engine light and was having some transmission trouble, ran the code and it was a shift solenoid that was out.

They replace the solenoid tune to the transmission and changed my oil, all for about half the cost of what I was expecting for just the solenoid. I will definitely be back and will refer others!

I have had work (never a trans rebuild) done in the past and thought they were pretty good. However, this time was one of the worst experiences I have had with a vendor, Jeff quoted me a price for an exchange and for a rebuild (the rebuild was the lesser). When I pick up my van he charged me the exchange rate for rebuilding my transmission and was extremely rude.

In addition they left the engine cover off and the converter inspection cover. Of course they claimed the van came in without the converter inspection cover. I told the mechanic that I felt a vibration and roughness and he said it was probably an engine mount. Returning from a 1200 mile trip when I was in stop and go traffic it felt like the converter was locking up. I do not expect this transmission to last and dealing was Jeff was not something I wan to experience again.

A big thanks to Jeff and the guys at Active Transmission! I took them my 2004 Infiniti, which had a bad vibration that began at just under 60 mph and was unbearable and scary at 70 mph. They diagnosed a bad drive shaft u-joint between the engine and the transfer case and replaced the entire drive shaft. Had it not been replaced, Jeff said, it could have failed and put a hole in the engine block. Jeff was prompt and courteous in his communications. The price was fair. I'm greatly relieved to have this problem solved. I highly recommend Active Transmission to anyone with running gear problems.

They replaced my transmission, two weeks later it failed again and I was told every now and again they receive a "lemon". FYI warranty was not renewed, and I had to tow it on my dime. Ok they replaced it and no problems until my main seal started leaking, transmission shop that will charge you 2k and for a "new" transmission and not add a 12$ part. Umm not very professional. Now I have to pay another 1k to replace a 12$ part. Don't cut corners and claim to be professional. Detroit transmissions is down the block.

I will totally refer you to everyone : Update: car was fine for a year then transmission started acting up again and when I tried to get a hold of Jeff to take him up on his warranty he could not be reached! Ended up having to trade off the car for something newer.

Jeff and his guys are amazing! My beloved 2006 Mazda 3 with 190,000 miles needed a clutch They found some other issues as well that I was unaware of Everything was explained in terms I could understand and the work was done in a very timely manner. I was taken care of as if it was the most important car in their shop. The car feels like it did when it was new! Thanks to James and BJ too! You guys are the best!

These Guys are amazing! I had my transmission go out in my work van so I couldn't be out for a long period of time, they were able to squeeze me in & get it rebuilt very quickly! Very nice, honest & reasonably priced & my transmission has never ran so well! Very much recommend these guys! Thank you for your hard work!

Jeff at Active Transmission is not only very knowledgeable, but one of he most kind people I have ever met. I was having some transmission problems, so I called the shop to ask what to do. After adding some transmission fluid, I dropped it off and they fixed my coolant lines and an axel bearing at a very affordable price. This is an '04 Jeep with 174k miles on it, so I asked if while it was in there if they could do a once over, and give me rough estimates on any other issues.

When I came to pick it up, Jeff spend about 30 minutes with me, going over all the issues, answering all my questions, even showing me around the shop and where they rebuild the transmissions. It felt like they had nothing to hide and that instead of just telling me about a part, he was willing to show it to me. Seriously, I can't say enough good things about these guys. Trustworthy, thorough, and fast. This will be the place I bring my Jeep for a long time!

I had to have the front differential gear on my truck replaced by a shop out of state. I noticed a leak about a month after I returned to Colorado. I took it to a shop close to home to have it looked at. I was told it would be expensive to fix. Great! Now I have to get with a shop 1000 miles away to figure out what they will cover for repairs. I went to Active Transmission for a second opinion.

It should have been my first choice! They tightened the loose drain plug, cleaned up the oil mess and sent me on my way. There was no charge for the service. I highly recommend Active Transmission. Jeff, Vern and their team are very professional.

After having a local dealership tell me my wife's car needed a new transmission on a vehicle with less than 48,000 miles and paying over $100 for the diagnostic, someone referred Active Transmission for a second opinion. Sure glad we did! Jeff, Vern and their team of technicians couldn't have been nicer. They also thought that was pretty odd and they would take a look at it.

They also did the diagnostic for free. After having done this, they found a loose wire, fixed it and we were on the road again. All for $175. Beats the $3000 the dealership wanted for a new/re-manufactured transmission. Thanks again, Active Transmission. You have new customers for life and we will spread the word on your professionalism and integrity.

I had a wonderful experience with Active Transmission. My car was fixed in less than a week, and the entire transmission was rebuilt in that time. I dropped my car off Thursday night, and it was fixed by Tuesday afternoon (and they are closed on weekends!). Anytime you need to fix a transmission it is expensive, but the service here is so great that you will feel happy to have supported them.

Active Transmission is absolutely wonderful. After my car broke down on the highway, I had it towed to Active. They immediately took care of the problem at a price far below what my Chrysler dealer would have charged. I have used Active Transmission to service other vehicles of mine and I have always found them to be fair, friendly, capable and responsive. If I could give them a rating greater than five stars, I certainly would! P.S. They rebuilt the transmission in my mother's 1992 Buick and it is still running great.

I love this auto shop. While they specialize in transmission, they do all of our other auto repairs as well. Every repair that I have priced out has been approximately 25% less than any other quote I can find. While they have been gaining customers, they still work hard to have our vehicles back in our hands as quickly as possible. I recommend them to all of my family and friends, so I certainly recommend them to you.

I didn't know these guys from Adam. I was attracted by some favorable reviews on another review site. My car was dropping in and out of gear, racing, clunking and otherwise seeming like an expensive transmission problem. I first brought it to Aamco in Denver. They wanted several hundred just to tell me tell me how much it would ultimately cost and absolutely refused to give a maximum. "You have to trust who you're dealing with." See ya.

First good sign: when I called Active: It was closing time, but Jeff spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me, asking diagnostic questions and providing a lot of information about transmissions. Second good sign: no $ to diagnose. Third really good sign. Jeff and Vern (son/father) said I didn't have a transmission problem (remember this is a transmission shop), but had like 8 bad sensor readings. They theorized that 7 of the readings related back to the 8th, and recommended replacing just that one sensor. It fixed everything. $160 total. Draw your own conclusions.

I found this place by looking on the Tom Martino Referral List. I thought my car needed a brake job as well as a tune-up. I left the car overnight and the next day Jeff calls me to tell me that a) my brakes are fine and b) my car doesn't need a tune-up or anything else done to it. When I went to pick it up there was no charge for the service and time they spent looking at my car. I will definitely be taking my car back here. Thank you Active Transmission & Gear.
