AWESOME! I've taken my car here for 3 different issues since moving to Montrose and have been extremely happy with their work, their service, and their efforts to always be forthcoming with their pricing and timelines. Most recently, I made the mistake of going to the big "W" for an oil change (had to get some shopping done and so I was trying to kill two birds with one stone).
Should have just gone to AATCO. Let me tell you: LESSON LEARNED. Long story short, "W" caused over $460 of damage to my car and refused to do anything about it. I called AATCO and they got me in immediately and got it taken care of the next business day. I love these guys and recommend them to anyone who needs auto mechanics.

Just don't go here. This place cost me over a year of problems and almost countless hours of trouble. Brought a car to change a steering rack, left it for about a month and they said it was ready. Went to pick it up an hour and a half away and wasn't ready. Waited all day and then took it for a drive and the steering was much worse, they had put the wrong steering rack in.
They told me that they didn't feel anything wrong with the car when the steering felt like complete garbage. I was told to drive it more, didn't fix the problem. Took it back a few months later and they put another rack in but never set it or did an alignment. The tie rods were way off and the steering wheel wasn't close to straight. I ruined a set of tires driving it because I thought they completed the job. This experience was bad enough that I'm writing this review TWO YEARS LATER when I finally found someone who actually did a proper job fixing my vehicle.

We were on our way home to Missouri from a family vacation in Ouray when my husband's transmission in his truck started acting up. We stopped and stayed the night in Montrose and the next morning we found this shop. The owner and his wife were amazing and genuine people. They immediately got us in and looked at the truck to figure out if we could continue on or have to leave the truck behind.
He was honest and not at all pushy. We ended up driving the truck home and thankfully made it the whole way. If his shop was close to our home, it's who we would have fix it.

We were visiting Montrose for the week when we ran into an issue halfway thru that made my car undriveable. Thank goodness for AATCO! They were able to diagnose the issue, quickly repair, and even arranged transportation for us since we were pretty much stuck without a way to get around on our vacation. They are honest and fair and kept me aware of how things were going so I could make arrangements - really good people. They pretty much saved the second half of our vacation! Bonus points for the great taco truck that was parked outside on the day I was there. Thanks again!

Lance and Missy run a top quality business. I own a transmission business in Denver and was on a trip to Ouray and needed some work done by them. Just used Aatco for the first time for a 2014 Range Rover brake pad and rotor replacement and oil change. Very good experience. Prices are good. What they said I needed was correct (exactly what my usual guys in Texas says I needed). They're fast. Got all the parts they needed overnight. They started promptly at the appointment time and finished in 1.5 hours while I waited at the Starbucks across the street where the tables are very far apart from each other and mostly empty. Highly recommend. A great experience.

Being new to Montrose I hadn't known who to take my car to for repairs. I was stuck in the hospital parking lot with a bad battery and a hood that would not open. I met Lance (and Missy later) at the auto parts store while purchasing a battery and asking for help. They offered to help. I needed a hood fix, battery and Alternator too. A few weeks later because of a defective alternator they had to rescue us again at Walmart.
They repaired it again at no charge and delivered it to our home on their way home. Their customer service is amazing. Reasonable prices and good work makes us recommend them to anyone of need of auto repair. They don't just do transmissions.

My car died on a drive across the country last summer. Thank goodness it was in Montrose and not in the mountains. I was able to start it and get it over here. I told them I was driving across the country and they told me they would help me as quick as they could. They weren't kidding, I was out of there an hour later for only a hundred bucks.
The guy went himself store to store to find the parts they needed, and even apologized for taking so long! Well I was not disappointed, and able to make it the rest of the way. I am very grateful.

The tranny on my MDX died while on vacation, and luckily Lance's shop was right across the street. They came and got us right away, and immediately worked with the ATRA shop who installed the transmission a couple years earlier. A new transmission was on the way by evening. Lance has been very communicative, kept me informed along the way, let me know when the new one arrived etc. They did a great job, and were very personable and reasonable during the whole process. Thanks Lance and team for helping us out when we were so far from home.

Worst service ever they take your vehicle and lolly gag all day they act like they will get your vehicle in and out they schedule appointments to start working on vehicles and then never start so not bring anything here they take there sweet time with your only mode of transportation joke of a business

I was passing through Montrose when my clutch finally wore out. They put in a new Luk clutch, overcharged me on labor but that was just the beginning. About 9 months down the road the clutch failed. I called them and they said they'd stand behind the warranty if I got it checked out at an ATRA-certified shop. We found one, AAMCO in Fort Collins, so I had it towed there and checked.
It was found that AATCO had failed to replace the pilot bearing, a key part of any clutch job; if you don't ruin the new clutch's disk. So they agreed to honor their 1-yr. warranty. But after I had got the work done and the AAMCO was looking for payment, the jokers over in Montrose said they were backing out of the deal, not standing behind their warranty after all.
Even said they had lost the invoice so couldn't even warranty the Luk clutch. Wow! I've never been ripped off and lied to that degree by any shop or even business in nearly 50 years of driving. Stay away, they don't stand behind their work (which is bad) or their word.

I was driving across America in the summer of 2007 when I began having problems with my car just outside of Montrose Colorado. Fortunate for me I found AATCO Transmission who helped me more than any other auto repair facility has done so. I can not recommend their services highly enough if you're ever unfortunate as I was back in the summer of 2007!
