I went to Grimm's get the DEQ emissions check on my car before work one day. They were so friendly and quick! After I paid my $20, the lady working there gave me a plant. So random but so nice! Full service

I have used Grimms on and off for 20 years for service. My car notified me I needed brake pads. I called 3 different places in town, Grimms pricing was in the middle. I chose Grimms to support our local business. Best choice I made. Easy drop off, clear communication. Honest approach (Tia called to tell me I had 30% left on front so I should only replace the rear - so my work was 50% less then what I expected). Offered a loaner, I didn't need it. Work was done on time. Thank you Grimms team!

The Team here at Grimm were all amazing. Every interaction was professional and prompt. Took my Focus ST here for AC issues. Found out my radiator fans stopped working. Got them replaced. Sitting in cold AC currently! It's amazing! Quick, professional, and Efficient. If you're looking for a trustworthy Shop, Grimms Service is it.

Accurate diagnosis on a medium to difficult issue with a high mileage European vehicle. Problem was isolated quickly and a written quote was provided to complete the more extensive repairs, all within a very reasonable amount of time. Very high quality old fashioned service overall, it is certainly appreciated. Now I am back on the road with a high level of confidence, departing from the South Shore of Lake Oswego. Not super stoked to see both employees today (2pm 1/10/2021) inside the shop not wearing face coverings/masks. I know they're just high school kids, but they need to wear masks for everyone's safety.

A family business smaller than the large motor car maintenance companies but makes up for it with personality, knowledge, one on one care, and no run arounds. Fair and honest pricing. Great people!

They've been great - I have an older car that needed some diagnostic work done and they did a great job with a fast turnaround time.

My go to shop in Portland! Have taken great care of all our vehicles over the years. Reputable, thorough, and great service for the price. Nothing fancy, but it's clear they know their stuff, and I breathe easier taking them for everything on our cars (oil changes up to big repairs). NEVER try to gouge me for work that doesn't need to be done which is a wonderful relief. Worth taking your car to them from everything to oil change up to bigger jobs. My bf's fambam uses Grimm for all their automotive needs. The bf was outta town and one of my headlights out kaput short after! of course- when it rains it pours- I get pulled over the same day for that very reason! -_- Needing to pick him up at the airport in the wee hours of the night, I didn't want to chance getting pulled over again because my little heart just can't take it no mo! Grimms was the first place I thought of.

I headed over with my headlight bulbs I purchased elsewhere and asked them if it was something they could do and BAM! My car goes into the garage and he was done in less than 10 mins! Drove off happy as can be. Fast friendly service and most importantly (for a college student) reasonable! He did inform me they charge $114(?)/hr for any of my other future car needs.

Hands down the best auto service around. Honest, knowledgeable and friendly. Auto technicians you can trust.

I get gas at Grimm's weekly and they are always friendly and provide excellent customer service. I have had two tires leaking from a nails in the last month and they fixed them both very quick and only charged me $20.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to take their car here. They will keep your car for weeks at a time and charge you much more than any quote they provide. Very shady business practices going on at this shop. After my bad experience I found that colleagues have had similar outcomes after going to Grimms. I would never recommend anyone to have this place work on their vehicle. You've been warned!

I have gotten my oil changed here and new tires. They are always very speedy, and they give great service. I've been very happy.

I went there to get some gas for ten dollars and the bastards charged me ten dollars plus eighteen dollars. These assholes probably didn't think I would check my account. Bunch of thieves must work there.

Hours say until 930pm yet I come in just now 10/26/17 at 620pm desperate for help since my window fell into my door and I was hoping for minimal help to get my door off and the attendant says they're closed and no mechanics. Has me wait awhile just to talk to me which is understandable with everyone coming in for fuel but as he's telling me there are no mechanics a guy comes in and complains his fuel was let go to full instead of 20.

The attendant completely leaves me without saying anything and gives the guy a snickers and rings him up and just leaves and goes back to fueling and doesn't come back. I've had a long day at work to close my door and have it break and then after I'm nice and asking if they can help at all I just get dismissed? Not professional and extremely disappointing. Now I'll have to hope no one robs my car tonight. I would discuss professionalism with the attendant

I visited Grimm's because my vehicle needed attention, I had the WORST experience EVER. I guess because I'm a young I must be stupid. They were condescending and pretty downright rude! NEVER again! I hesitantly went across the street because I really needed help and WOW! What a terrific experience!

I got a flat on my way home yesterday. They were just about to close and Mark and crew did a road side call to fix it despite the snow and darkness looming. My lame scissor jack was not up to the task and they made quick work of getting my truck back up and operational. This shop rocks and I'm a customer for life!

Mark and his crew have been our go-to garage for 17 years. They are efficient and have done a lot of good work for my family over the years. They will also order parts and other items and have them for you in no time. I was without chains for my car today prior to the snow storm and they ordered chains for me and had them in 2 hours. It saved me needing to run around town.

I have had them fix punctured tires in the morning on my way to work, and they are always happy to help. They have always hired very nice people and are one of the only gas station/garages left in the area. I feel so fortunate to have them so close to home! Really the best!

They are always efficient, and will do everything to help you out - even a loaner car while your is in the shop. Most importantly, they are honest and don't recommend work that does not need to be done. The best of the best!

I'm so suprised that there are 1 star reviews on this. Everytime I go they are helpful, knowledgable, cost-friendly, and quick. I always feel like I know whats happening and that they keep me updated on whats happening to my car. They make an effort to remember who you are and talk with you. They explained what was wrong and what that meant. I didn't feel lost in the process and understood more about my car after taking it here. I spent $450 to get my axel and brake circuit worked on, and had no qualms paying it-if that shows how great the service was.

I absolutely do NOT recommend this company to anyone. I recently bought a used car for around 3k. The engine, transmission, suspension and body were in excellent condition. There were a few minor issues with the car. The starter was weak, the driver side window was not in its holders, and the fuel gauge wasn't working properly. They charged me over $350 for just the starter replacement.

The starter costs around $100 at Baxters. $250 extra in labor and parts? $175 for labor on just the window and $50 in "parts"? Grand total for minor fixes was $1298. WOW. There wont be a next time, but they could have at least used lube.

My family has been using Grimm's for a LONG time. Honest and excellent mechanics. Very hard to find such a dependable mechanic. But these guys are worth it. Let them know you have been referred, I am sure you will be treated wonderfully. Everyone calls me by name, and I know the people working on my cars.

I had used this shop once before and was mostly pleased. Just got an oil change and some other minor repair. When the time came for something a little more substantial, I called about a week in advance to specify what parts I wanted replaced, to arrange the date, and to make sure that there would be no hiccups as I lived about 40 minutes away. I brought my car in the day of the appointment to be met by the same guy with whom I spoke on the phone.

He first told me that they had not ordered the parts as I had requested, because "he forgot to." I explained that I was willing to let them keep the car, as they had promised me use of one of their loaners and I could make due with it despite needing my car for work. The attendant then went on to tell me that they never put in my request for the loaner and that they had no more to offer me for the day.

I asked to speak with management and the owner's son (I forget his name) presented himself. I calmly explained to him the above outlined situation. On top of all this, it was a work day for me and I was being unpaid for anytime I was missing. In the most condescending tone of voice imaginable, he told me to just make another appointment so that they could order the parts.

He was completely unapologetic for the numerous mistakes made on their behalf, and even more unsympathetic for the fact that I had taken a financial loss to drive 40 minutes across the city through morning rush hour traffic. Any person with an ounce of sensibility would have offered an apology at the very least, or perhaps an oil change, but instead he just stood there and sneered at me.

I am just a few months shy of 40, and would be hard pressed to remember a more egregious case of ineptitude, let alone worse customer service. Should you choose to take your vehicle here, I encourage you to make offerings to whatever gods you believe in that your time and money will not be wasted. Look through their reviews. Lots of one stars. Anybody is capable of having one bad day or instance, but for Grimm's Service it is a way of life. Caveat Emptor.

Not really sure what to say about those 1-star reviews because my experience with Grimms has always been amazing. I have taken several cars there for a bunch of different work from oil changes through clutch replacement. I have had quotes from the dealer for $650 "necessary" work only to have Grimms solve the problem for $125. I've been coming here for over 10 years and these guys have been honest to a fault.
